Two decades ago, SAN-based backup was pretty much the only option for enterprises.  Organizations needed the performance from a fibre channel backbone in order to meet their SLA's (RPO's / RTO's).  However, that isn't necessarily the case these days.  Today, LAN-based infrastructure can meet the demand for most business SLAs. Listen as Fraser MacIntosh, lead competitive analyst in the Systems Division for IBM for data protection talks about how the data protection world has evolved and how clients can save money today when looking at their overall backup infrastructure.
